Paul Pogba has been linked with a move away from Manchester United in the last few transfer windows and the saga is expected to continue in the summer.
Real Madrid and Juventus have been discussed as two possibilities and reports coming out of Italy from earlier this week suggested these two sides will battle it out for the midfielder’s signature.
Reports from Spain state the France international is Zinedine Zidane’s ‘great wish’, but the La Liga side aren’t convinced to sign the 27-year-old. They would prefer other candidates over the World Cup winner.
Pogba’s contract with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side lasts until 2021, and the Red Devils have an option to further extend it by a year, so there’s no immediate worry in that regard.
As speculation around Pogba’s future continues, his agent Mino Raiola has refused to provide clarity on his client’s future at United.
“Paul is going through a difficult time, but let it be clear because in England they are very sensitive, Pogba is concentrating on making a great end to the season with Manchester United,” Raiola told Marca.
“He wants to re-enter the team and make a great end to the season so that United can return to Champions League.”
“You can’t say what’ll happen. Today you cannot know. Now the club and the team matter and then we will see what can happen. There was great interest, but it was not possible. Last year it does not count anymore. We will see what happens.”
Raiola has stressed he shares a good relation with Real Madrid and wants to take one of his clients to the Spanish club in the summer.
“My relation with Real Madrid is very good. I am in contact with José Ángel [Sanchez] and I love discussing football and FIFA issues with him because his opinion interests me,” the agent added.
“I have great hope that one day we will be able to take a great footballer to Real Madrid. Now I have Areola, but it is a half operation because it is a loan.
“I want to take a great footballer and I will try this summer. It would be a pride for me and my footballers because Real Madrid is a great club “
