Marc Cucurella’s impressive debut season at Brighton & Hove Albion has seen him linked to Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in recent weeks.
The Seagulls took the left-back from Getafe in 2021 and his fine displays in the recently concluded campaign saw him being named Brighton & Hove Albion’s Men’s Player of the Season.
With reports of Manchester City and other sides chasing the 23-year-old, the Spaniard admitted he is aware of these links. He made these claims during an interview with Esport3 and refused to open the door to leave Graham Potter’s side.
Spanish journalist Gerard Romero was given an opportunity to chat with the ex-Barcelona man, where the latter was specifically quizzed whether he would favour joining the Etihad cub this summer.
When asked about Manchester City’s interest, the Brighton player was honest with his response.

“If the opportunity arises, you have to take advantage of it. There are teams that you can’t say no to,” Cucurella said.
Pep Guardiola has used João Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko in Manchester City’s title winning campaign. Cucurella’s potential addition to squad can help the manager have a recognised left-back at his disposal.
