It seems Brighton & Hove Albion’s chase for Rosario Central midfielder Facundo Buonanotte started and ended very fast. In a matter of days, the Seagulls’ interest in the player was reported, the talks took place and the transfer now collapsed.
The Argentine media is today full of stories explaining that the youngster’s move to the Premier League is no longer happening. And it turns out it’s his agent who’s exposing the whole situation.
Roberto San Juan, who manages Buonanotte’s career, has had an interview with TyC Sports where he explains the whole process. The official was in Spain sorting the final details of the move to Brighton, and ended up surprised with Rosario Central suddenly backed away from the deal.
“This back and forth surprised us. We had everything agreed. With the people of the English club they were beginning to send documents. Now this is happening,” San Juan told TyC Sports.
The agent even revealed the fee that Brighton were about to pay for the signing, claiming this was supposed to be good money for the Argentine side.
“Five or six million and then there were six for objectives, all attainable. Later, a capital gain of 20%.”
“It could be the best sale in the history of Central. A proposal from the Premier does not come to anyone, and at 17. The sale of Buonanotte could leave more money than that of Julián Álvarez.”
Clearly angry about the situation, San Juan claims the Seagulls aren’t happy with it either, as the club had been working hard on the transfer.
“They can’t believe it. Brighton are playing and they are sending messages. They are surprised. They were meeting here in Madrid for 15 hours to find a solution, the best for the club, the best ways so that it is a millionaire sale for Central.”
