If there’s one league that Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte were going to turn their attention to in the January transfer window, it was always Serie A.
It had already started when the director of football took over in the summer, with both Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero arriving from Atalanta, and there’s a good chance they will return to Italy for some bargain shopping this Christmas.
One widely talked about target has been Dusan Vlahovic, but another who has also cropped up regularly is Dejan Kulusevski.
The Swede is struggling for game time under Max Allegri, and with Juventus reportedly trying to bring in some money in January, he could be sold.
Corriere Torino look at the situation on Thursday, and explain ‘the door is open to all’, with ‘almost all’ of the players seen as ‘expendable’.
One of the names mentioned directly is Dejan Kulusevski, who has ‘only started in five of the 18 games he has played to date’.
In England, Arsenal and Tottenham ‘have long set their sights on the player’, and ‘it cannot be a surprise’ that Spurs are involved ‘given that the former Juventus director Fabio Paratici had closed the deal to take him from Atalanta just under two years ago’.
Costing €44m with bonuses back then, Juventus would need ‘at least €20m’ to ensure he isn’t marked as a loss on their books, but their ‘demand is at least €35m’.
All eyes on Spurs here, who could do with a player of Kulusevski’s talent to help Conte turn things around in North London.
