Tottenham Hotspur’s struggles continue even after parting ways with Antonio Conte last month. They have picked up four points from the last four games, which includes a 6-1 defeat against Newcastle United.
Cristian Stellini, who was appointed as interim manager after Conte’s exit, was relieved of his duties earlier this week. Ryan Mason will take charge of Spurs’ upcoming fixtures as they look to find a new permanent manager.
Bild stated yesterday that Julian Nagelsmann is ‘very tempted’ to join Tottenham, as long as they meet his demands. It was also reported he’s currently focusing only on the north London club.
Speaking to Sky Deutschland, Ralf Rangnick has urged the German to become Conte’s permanent successor at the Premier League side.
“I think Tottenham are an exciting club in many ways. They probably have one of the most modern, beautiful stadiums in the world at the moment. They have one of the best training centres that is there at the moment and Daniel Levy, who has been leading the club for many, many years,” he said.
Fabio Paratici left Spurs earlier this month. Rangnick, who knows the English league from his spell at Manchester United last season, has advised Tottenham to appoint a sporting director first, if they want to bring in the 35-year-old.
“If Tottenham really want him, then I think it would be important if a sporting director was still there to support him,” Rangnick explained.
“This can be a very, very exciting story. There’s room for improvement, a lot of room for improvement, and yet it’s not a club where they expect you to finish in the top one, two or three right away.”
Nagelsmann has been without a job since Bayern Munich sacked him on March 24th. With him being ‘very tempted’ to join Tottenham, it needs to be seen whether they will end up appointing him or another candidate.
