Despite claims that Manchester United are going after Benjamin Pavard to bolster their defence, there is a lot of talk about Jean-Clair Todibo being a target.
The young defender is more of a centre-back than the Bayern Munich star, but the versatility on offer from the World Cup winner certainly could be more of an asset for Erik ten Hag.
Either way, as relayed by France Bleu, there are some doubts regarding the future of Todibo at OGC Nice, with Dante, one of their defenders, commenting on the rumours sending his teammate to Manchester United.
After his manager said that he would like the player to stay, the Brazilian followed in his footsteps, but admitted it could be tough to hold onto the 23-year-old.
He said in a press conference: “Of course we’d like Todibo to stay, but it can be complicated. We’ll have to wait and see who will want to buy him and if everyone finds themselves (in a deal). He’s a leader, a very good player mentally. He’s progressed a lot and he’s ready to get to the to level.”
Regardless of who Manchester United do go for, they will have to spend around the same as what they are getting for Harry Maguire from West Ham.
Pavard is said to cost around €30m for the last year of his contract in Germany, while Todibo, younger and on a longer contract, could cost a bit more.
