Website Passione Inter today features a very interesting story about the new stadium which is set to be built in Milan.

The outlet managed to interview Massimo Roj and Giovanni Giacobone, who are architects from the CMR project, one of the options for the new ground to replace the San Siro.

After a request from the clubs, the intention is to build a smaller stadium, with a capacity to up to 65,000 people. One of the new features would be ‘the rings’ to preserve the atmosphere, and it turns out Leicester City could be used as an inspiration for that.

“One out of all was the Cagliari Arena: for ‘The Rings’, we thought of a roof that hooks onto the stands, which as for the Cagliari stadium creates a ‘cover’ that prevents the dispersion of sound, so both to reduce noise pollution and to amplify the noise of internal fans,” they told Passione Inter.

“Just this morning Esteban Cambiasso paid a visit to our studio and told us how he was impressed by his years in Leicester, that the stadium was able to hold back noise and thus create a unique atmosphere. Here, we would like to give the Milanese fans some of that atmosphere: unique and fiery.”

Esteban Cambiasso left Inter Milan for Leicester City on a free transfer in 2014, playing only one season at the club. He left a year before the Foxes lifted the Premier League trophy in 2016.

For a player with such a great career, having featured for the likes of River Plate, Real Madrid and Inter Milan, Leicester City fans are probably really proud that the King Power Stadium is still a ground which brings him good memories.
