Everton and Brentford are in the picture to sign Sevilla’s Isaac Romero this summer.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, and their title says there’s ‘calls from England for Isaac Romero’.
Everton and Brentford are the only two English clubs named within the report, without anything to backup about their calls.
They say claims from the UK stated that Everton and Brentford had sent scouts to follow the 25-year-old. Estadio relay that and report they can confirm that the Premier League duo have been chasing the striker.
The frontman played 2,261 minutes from 32 games in the recently concluded season, scoring five goals and registering two assists in the process. Due to his statistics, the report claims a ‘lucrative sale’ has been ruled out this summer.
Therefore, Romero, at least for this moment in time, is expected to continue with the La Liga side, where he has a contract until 2028, until an actual effort is made.
Orgullobiri also report the two English clubs are monitoring Romero’s situation but isn’t a priority option. They add he wants to stay at Sevilla, who haven’t ruled out his sale and value him at €10m.
It’s worth noting there’s been no claims in the UK recently on either Everton or Brentford looking at Romero. Estadio seem to have taken this out of thin air to relay an update they received, potentially from Romero’s agent.
The frontman’s representative may be fishing for interest or trying to push Sevilla into committing more to his client.
