Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly a long term admirer of German star Leroy Sane.

The Premier League club are in negotiations with Schalke to sign Sane, and reports have suggested the Bundesliga club want €50m for him.

According to a latest report of German daily Bild, Sane is on the verge of signing for Manchester City, and will the break the record of most expensive German footballer.  It’s stated that currently is held by Mesut Ozil, who moved from Real madrid to Arsenal for €47m

Bild say Sane’s transfer to Manchester City is almost complete. The Bundesliga club will receive €50m for the player. The 20-year-old has agreed to sign a four-year contract worth €6m/season.

Sane will now be expected to undergo his medical, before Manchester City wrap up the deal and get Guardiola his wish. They have a sub-headline on the page reading: ‘Bye, bye Leroy!’

Do not be surprised if there’s a last minute twist or delay in this one, given how the story has developed since the beginning of the winter transfer window.
