Burnley and Sunderland are interested in Ajax youngster Ar’Jany Martha, who is set to be released by the Dutch giants this summer.
That’s according to FC Update and journalist Mounir Boualin, who says both Burnley and Sunderland have expressed an interest in the 20-year-old.
They explain that the two Championship sides are ‘the most concrete’ at the moment for the youngster, who managed nine appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season.
They had been keen to keep hold of him at one point but an agreement over a new contract couldn’t be reached and the defender is set to leave on a free transfer at the end of this month.
It is that which has seemingly attracted both Burnley and Sunderland, who are the two sides showing the most concrete interest in the 20-year-old at this point.
There’s no indication of whether either side have made an approach to Martha at this moment in time, although he is free to negotiate with any interested parties should he wish under the Bosman ruling.
Who he’d prefer out of Burnley and Sunderland is up for debate, and one we won’t be getting involved in, but they’re the frontrunners at this point.
