The Spanish media was quite confident that Burnley would continue bidding for Deportivo La Coruña’s Florin Andone.

Last week, they claimed that the club’s attempts to sign Chris Wood from Leeds were ‘unsuccessful‘, so Burnley’s would have to take a turn.

But Burnley ended up signing the Leeds United player, and that’s obviously some coverage from the Spanish outlets. El Desmarque, for example, now say Andone is ‘further away’ from the club.

It’s claimed that Deportivo had been playing a hard game to sell the striker.

When the first bid of €14m was made by Burnley, it wasn’t able to impress, and the La Liga side demanded the player’s €30m release clause, which is still his price-tag.

El Desmarque claims that Burnley still like Andone, and the transfer is not ruled out yet. But after the amount of money they’ve already spent on Woods, things are getting more unlikely now.
