Burnley’s negotiations with Anderlecht for midfielder Josh Cullen are ‘almost completed’ after they raised their bid.

That’s according to Het Niuewsblad, who say the midfielder’s absence from Anderlecht training is ‘conspicuous’.

We covered a report from Belgium yesterday that stated Burnley were closing in on the former West Ham man as Vincent Kompany continues to rebuild his squad.

That stated a €2m bid had already been rejected and Het Niuewsblad follow that up today by stating Burnley ‘seem to have raised their bid’ to over €3m.

They report that Cullen is not injured, so his absence from training is conspicuous and hints that he will be on the way back to England.

Anderlecht are happy to sell as Cullen is entering the final year of his contract, and they bought him for half a million, so there is a profit to be made.

Negotiations with Burnley continue to find an agreement but are ‘almost completed’ as the Belgian side look to fill their coffers and Kompany reunites with one of his former players.
