Burnley are looking to repeat the success they had signing Maxwell Cornet from Ligue 1 in the summer with a move for SCO Angers midfielder Angelo Fulgini.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the Clarets are ‘keen’ to continue their ‘raid’ in the French division after their successful purchase of Cornet.

Burnley paid €15m for Cornet in August, and he has proven to be a massive success since, with five goals in seven games so far.

That is ‘clearly inspiring’ their recruitment team, who have now set their sights on another Ligue 1 player for the club.

According to the website’s information, Burnley are ‘aiming’ for Angers midfielder Angelo Fulgini, who wants to leave the club.

He wanted out last summer but didn’t get his move, much to his ‘great dismay’ but remains keen for it to happen, and Burnley are ready to give him what he wants.

They are ‘ready to put €15m on the table’ for the midfielder, who scored ten goals and registered four assists last season and has two goals and two assists to his name this season.

Reports in England have stated that Fulham are interested, but Burnley are leading the chase, and according to an English source, they have been monitoring him on several occasions in the last few months.

They’re now ready to make a firm bid and put €15m on the table to take him away in the January transfer window.

That’s something Angers could ‘look favourably’ at as they are in financial difficulty, with the National Directorate of Management Control having them ‘under supervision’.

A ‘big cheque’ would be most welcome then to give the club a ‘breath of fresh air’.

All Burnley have to do is provide it.
