In the past week Burnley attacking midfielder Zeki Amdouni has been linked with a move to Benfica and the 23-year-old is closing in on a move to the Euro giant.
We recently covered reports that Amdouni is unhappy with his role at Turf Moor this season after finding himself being benched by Scott Parker.
With his place in the Swiss national team potentially under threat due to his situation, the youngster has been angling for a transfer before the window closes on Friday.
Record have reported on the latest developments regarding Benfica’s pursuit of the player, and they’ve pictured Amdouni arriving at Lisbon airport.
The Portuguese news outlet relay that the Burnley man will be joining Benfica on a season long loan but haven’t reported if there will be an obligation to buy next summer. As reported five days ago, Benfica will be paying €4m for the loan deal.
Amdouni made 37 appearances for Burnley last season, scoring six goals. He’s contracted to the east Lancashire club until June 2028 after only arriving last summer.
