Anderlecht star Steven Defour has agreed to sign for newly promoted Premier League side Burnley, after a fee of €8m was agreed between both the clubs.

Abu Dhabi based club Al Jazira were also interested in signing the Belgian international, but Burnley offered significantly more money, reports Belgian website HLN.

Earlier, it was reported Burnley offered the player €1.8m/season including bonuses, whilst Abu Dhabi based club Al Jazira have put a €3m/season contract on the table, so logic suggests the Premier League side have offered more than €3m/season.

The 28-year-old is now expected to sign a three or four year contract, and will be hoping to make his debut for Burnley next week.

Defour could be an impressive signing for Burnley, and their fans definitely have a reason to get excited about it.
