There’s a claim in the Belgian media that Burnley midfielder Samuel Bastien is on the verge in signing for Fortuna Sittard.
The 27-year-old was loaned out to Turkish Super Lig side Kasımpaşa S.K. last season and again he doesn’t look like he’s Burnley’s plans for next season.
Sacha Tavolieri has today claimed Bastien will be joining Fortuna Sittard on loan and that an agreement has been made between the two clubs. The Belgian journalist says the player will be loaned to the Dutch club for the whole of next season.
Since dropping back down to the Championship a number of players have been reporting to be exiting Turf Moor this summer. In recent weeks Sander Berge has been linked with a move to Turkey with both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce monitoring his situation.
Wout Weghorst, who turned 32-years-of-age today, has also been receiving interest after claims Trabzonspor want to sign him, along with Ajax.
Bastien made seven appearances last season for Kasımpaşa and has played just 24 games since signing for Burnley in 2022. He’s contracted to the east Lancashire club until June 2025.
