As Burnley stay alive in the race to sign Sporting winger Jovane Cabral, Portuguese newspaper Record today shares an update on the situation.
The outlet first explains that Real Valladolid have just joined the fight for the 24-year-old. A director has already spoken to the player, and as the club believe they can get the signing done for only €2m, they now continue to negotiate.
But Burnley don’t seem to have been left behind. Record explains that the Clarets already reached an agreement with Sporting, even though they don’t mention the figure, and says the club now work to convince the player.
It’s claimed that at first Jovane ‘was not interested’ in playing the Championship, but Vincent Kompany’s side made a new attempt to convince him by offering him a yearly wage of €800k. Now they’re said to be waiting for the answer.
Besides Valladolid and Burnley, the third club in the race is said to be Olympiacos, although the Greek side are waiting until the final days of the window to try a ‘more advantageous deal’.
So as the saga goes on, it seems it’s Jovane himself who’ll soon have three options on the table to choose from.
