Earlier this month, it was claimed that Aster Vranckx, fresh from a disappointing loan at AC Milan, was being offered around the Premier League to find him an exit from VfL Wolsfburg.
Crystal Palace and Fulham were named, but it appears it’s Burnley who have taken the bait, with Vincent Kompany seemingly keen to work with the midfielder.
This comes courtesy of L’Equipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, who took to Twitter to reveal that the Clarets have made a ‘first offer’ for the Bundesliga man.
The amount put forward by Burnley was €12m, and that’s without bonuses, hinting there could be a few more peppered in there.
That’s all he has to say on the matter for now, but the amount shows there is still some belief in the player, who was once touted as one of the better Belgian talents of his generation.
Add to that the one appearance he made early on in the summer for the Bundesliga side, and he only played 11 times throughout the entire campaign.
That doesn’t seem to have put off Burnley, though, who are willing to give Wolfsburg a profit for the player.
