Burnley FC are among the clubs in the mix to sign Konrad de la Fuente in the winter market.
In the summer transfer window, Marseille allowed the 21-year-old join Olympiacos on loan. He has been on the pitch for less than 200 minutes, which came from five matches.
L’Equipe reported that lack of game time in Greece could see the winger return to the Ligue 1 side in January.
This claim is relayed by Estadio Deportivo, who then provide their own information on the teams looking at the American, which is when Burnley are mentioned.
ED’s report focuses on Real Valladolid, as they could take advantage of his current situation at Olympiacos.
The La Liga side could be given a new opportunity in January, after they failed signing De La Fuente in the summer.
Apart from Valladolid, Burnley, Anderlecht, Sassuolo and Sampdoria have also ‘enquired’ to sign the USMNT attacker.
The report points out Marseille let De la Fuente join Olympiacos on loan with an option to buy, but they are unlikely to exercise it. He was then valued at €6m.
With the American ‘back on the market’, he could be available at a ‘much cheaper price’ than what was asked for him in the last window.
The World Cup break could allow talks and progress to be made in the negotiations for a potential deal in January.
However, it remains to be seen whether Vincent Kompany’s side will try to take advantage of this and sign De La Fuente in the upcoming window.
