Burnley are close to the signing of Sporting winger Jovane Cabral, according to reports from the Portuguese media.
Outlet A Bola is the one featuring an interesting story today. They report the 24-year-old is being linked with a move to Bristol City, but also say his destination is likely to be another one.
Burnley are reportedly signing Cabral on a permanent deal. Sporting had been interested in selling him for while, having loaned him to Lazio last season, and now it seems they’ve managed to move him on.
For now, there’s no information on how much the Clarets are looking to sign the winger for, whose value on Transfermarkt is €5.5m.
A Bola claims Besiktas continue to be interested in Cabral, but given how advanced the situation is with Burnley, this has made things complicated for the Turkish side.
The player has 21 goals and 17 assists in 97 appearances for Sporting. His promising start at the club resulted in many rumours about a move to the Premier League, but since his form dropped, the chance of a big move didn’t materialise. Subsequently this was the reason for his loan spell in Italy and now it seems he’s close to trying his luck in the Championship.
