Liverpool have struggled in their attempt to defend the title as the Reds are sixth in the table, 25 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

According to Bild, the Merseyside club want to ‘rebuild the squad’ in the summer after a disappointing campaign.

The German outlet relays claims made in England about Liverpool wanting to cash in from the sales of Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer.

Bild then provide their own information and explain Jürgen Klopp’s side will invest in signing new players.

It’s claimed RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer is an ‘option’ for the Anfield club as part of their rebuild plan. The midfielder’s current deal will run down in 2022 and he has decided against signing a new deal.

The Austria international wants to leave the Bundesliga side in the next market and his ‘goal’ is to move to the Premier League, where ‘three clubs want Sabitzer’; Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Sabizter has a market value of €42m. He has no release clause and the report states Julian Nagelsmann’s side are looking for fee in the range of his current valuation.

Bild gives a probability of 15 percent for the Leipzig player to end up at Liverpool after this season.
