RB Leipzig forward Oliver Burke is set to become a West Bromwich Albion player, according to a claim in Germany, which baks up other claims in England. With the deadline just days away it seems West Brom have sealed a deal for the player.

RB Live report, citing Sky Donnerstagabend (on Thursday evening) as their source, West Brom have already reached an agreement for Burke, and he will now undergo a medical.

According to RB Live, West Brom will be looking to purchase the forward for €16m, as Tony Pulis looks to bolster his attacking options. The 20 year old has yet to play in the Premier League, but did have a spell in the Championship with Nottingham Forest.

Speculation regarding Burke’s return to England was reported by Kicker’s journalist Oliver Hartmann around a week ago, but it was expected the former Nottingham Forest forward would be joining Crystal Palace.

Hartmann wrote that Burke had big deficits in his tactical understanding, and that he’s improved after preseason training camp.

Burke signed Leipzig just 12 months ago for €15.2m, but he’s not impressed the German side’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick, who’s stated he would be willing to sell him.

West Brom may be being generous to hand RB Leipzig a profit on a player the German club don’t seem to rate, it’s a big fee in that respect.
