Gonçalo Guedes being linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers is nothing new.
The Valencia player has been edged towards the Premier League club for some time, largely due to the Jorge Mendes connections.
However, Saturday sees an interesting report from Jornal de Noticias. Each week, the Portuguese newspaper, who certainly aren’t one of the biggest pushers of transfer rumours, have a big story for the cover of their Ataque sport supplement.
This week, it has Guedes featured, and a headline which says he’s on the radar of Bruno Lage at Wolves and Jose Mourinho at AS Roma.
Jornal de Noticias say that according to their own information, Guedes is ‘on the way out’ at Valencia this summer. The attacker has a contract which lasts until June 2023, and the transfer fee is put at no more than €20m.
Wolves and Roma have ‘positioned themselves’ for the signing, and both Lage and Mourinho ‘appreciate’ the player. Mendes is thought to be key because of his close connections to all involved in the potential deal.
Guedes has 13 goals and five assists in 33 matches so far this season.
