Bruno Fernandes has been included in Sporting’s squad which will face Benfica for the Portuguese League tonight.

There’s been a big expectation regarding the midfielder’s presence in the game, since reports in the past hours said he could be leaving the Lions before that.

Sporting took a lot longer than Benfica to announce the squad for the derby, but it’s now been confirmed by their Twitter account that Bruno Fernandes should be involved.

The negotiations with Manchester United seem to go on, as the Portuguese media now believes there are no players involved, with the clubs being closer on completing a transaction which will involve only cash.

Currently in fourth place, Sporting are going through a bad form and it would mean a lot for them to beat their city rivals, who are top of the table.

It would certainly be a perfect farewell for Bruno as well, since the Lions are playing at home and he could have one last appearance in front of their fans.
