On Sunday morning, Portuguese newspaper Record had a story saying Manchester United would send a scout to the match between Belenenses and Sporting to watch Bruno Fernandes.

Following the claims that Manchester City have started negotiations for the midfielder, it was said that the Red Devils didn’t want to be left behind and would be watching the player once again.

Now on Monday, the outlet confirms Manchester United’s presence at the Jamor, as club scouts watched Sporting’s fantastic 8-1 win away from home.

And it turns out that Fernandes ended up having one of his best performances this season, scoring a hat-trick and making one assist in front of the scouts.

The midfielder now has 31 goals and 17 assists this season, and by this stage, it doesn’t really look like he has much to prove to the clubs who are thinking of signing him.

With Manchester United watching most of Sporting’s games since the start of the season, the Red Devils are probably just completing the scouting reports so they can have the final analysis by the end of the season.

Because with Manchester City moving first, it can’t be possible that the Old Trafford side are still wondering if Fernandes is worth going for or not.
