Bristol City are refusing to hold any more talks with Djurgarden over Gustav Engvall’s proposed move to the Swedish club. The two clubs had agreed a deal in principle, but Bristol City recalled the forward due to Milan Duric picking up an injury.

Fotboll Direkt have revealed Engvall has now returned to England after a few days training with Djugarden. It now seems any a deal is unlikely, even through Djurgarden are still keen to sign the 21-year-old.

The player has also reportedly contacted Lee Johnson and pleaded with him to sanction the move, but with the injury to Duric the Bristol City boss needs the Sweden U21 international at his disposal.

Only yesterday we covered reports from Sweden that Djurgarden still wanted to complete the transfer, and remained confident they could land Engvall before the transfer deadline. The Swedish club also confirmed they only found out via Twitter that the youngster was returning to Bristol City despite a verbal agreement being made.
