Brighton and Hove Albion boss Fabian Hürzeler has insisted the only comparison that can be made with him and Liverpool legend Jürgen Klopp is that they’ve both had hair transplants.
BILD cover comments from the Brighton boss today made on the BILD podcast Phrasenmäher in which he discussed his relationship with Klopp and the comparisons between them.
Hürzeler replaced Klopp as the only German manager in the Premier League this season after his compatriot decided to bring his time at Liverpool to an end.
Given their nationalities and the paths their careers have taken so far, comparisons between the two were quickly made ahead of Hürzeler’s arrival in England.
Hürzeler isn’t too impressed with that it seems, insisting that the only real comparison between him and the former Liverpool boss is the fact they’ve had hair treatments.
“In England I’m already being compared to Jürgen – which we can leave alone because he was much more successful and had a unique career. The only comparison that fits is that we both had our hair enhanced a bit,” he joked when questioned about those comparisons.
While the Brighton boss doesn’t want any comparisons, he was more than happy to take advice from Klopp about life in the Premier League after his Liverpool experience.
He had experienced everything during his time in England and Hürzeler has explained the one key piece of advice he passed on.
“For me, Jürgen is the best coach when it comes to creating an identity for a club and all employees. He described to me how consistently he acted and also made tough decisions – that was very revealing,” he added.
