Fanatik report Sevilla and Brighton & Hove Albion are the two clubs who are seriously interested in signing Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.

The Turkish stopper has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club since the start of the transfer window, and there have been claims going back some months of English interest. Sheffield United were looking to sign Cakir to replace Dean Henderson, but they ended up bringing in Aaron Ramsdale from Bournemouth.

It’s reported both Sevilla and Brighton have submitted offers to Trabzonspor for the 24 year old and that the Turkish side are looking for at least €20m. Last week it was claimed the Seagulls had tabled a €15m bid.

Cakir is said to be keen to leave the Super Lig to head to a bigger stage, and is prioritising somewhere he’d still get regular first-team football. The Trabzon club will reportedly make a final decision in the coming days about the player’s future.

He made 43 appearances for Trabzonspor last season and kept five clean sheets, and his contract at the Senol Gunes Stadium will expire at the end of June 2024.
