Brighton & Hove Albion are showing interest in Empoli’s Jacopo Fazzini, according to Homme Du Match.
The 21-year-old initially joined the Italian club’s academy in 2017 and was promoted to their first team in 2022. He’s mainly been used as an attacking midfielder this season and made seven appearances. He can also operate in the middle of the pitch.
Fazzini’s performances, vision and quality of his passes made him attractive for Brighton and other clubs.
Homme Du Match make it clear this is their original information and their focus is on OGC Nice’s interest in the player. The French club will face competition from Brighton to sign the player.
It’s claimed there’ll be a ‘fight’ between the Seagulls and the Ligue 1 side for the Italy U21 international’s signature.
Fazzini has a contract lasting until 2027 and the report states he’s valued at €6m. The fee quoted should certainly be affordable for Fabian Hürzeler’s side.
Homme Du Match add Fazzini’s future could be ‘decided in the coming weeks’, suggesting that there can be a transfer in January. It’ll be interesting to see if this will be backed up or rejected in Italy/England.
