On Friday, Foot Mercato reported Marseille’s Azzedine Ounahi has reached a verbal agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The attacking midfielder spent this season on loan at Panathinaikos, who find their €11.5m purchase option too high. Therefore, he will return to the Ligue 1 club and could be on his way to The Amex this summer.

A fresh report from Foot Mercato gives a background into Brighton’s agreement with the 25-year-old and their plan to agree terms with the Ligue 1 club.

Ounahi has held talks with Fabian Hürzeler’s side and is ‘seduced’ by the project they have offered. Foot Mercato state there’s a verbal agreement between the two parties and adds it’s for a four-year contract.

The Premier League club have to find an agreement with Roberto De Zerbi’s side to go ahead with this operation.

According to Foot Mercato, the Seagulls will contact Marseille in the ‘coming days’ to agree terms of the transfer.

The Morocco international has a contract lasting until 2027 and the French club are demanding €11m. It’s possible for Brighton to match it or at least come close to this figure to sign Ounahi.
