Brighton & Hove Albion are willing to give Alexis Mac Allister a new contract, according to reports from Argentina.
Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo writes on Twitter that the Seagulls already ‘manifested him’ they have the intention of extending his deal.
Pointing out that Mac Allister’s contract with Brighton expires in 2024, the report claims the talks are set to start in the coming months.
With five goals and four assists in 34 appearances for the Seagulls this season, this is undoubtedly the best time the midfielder is having in England since his arrival in January 2020.
Signed from Argentinos Juniors in January 2019 on a €8m deal, it took a while for Mac Allister to finally be able to play for Brighton. Because of visa issues, he was sent back to his old club, and then had another loan at Boca Juniors until January 2020.
Following his arrival at the Premier League side, the midfielder struggled to get starts at the club, and another return to his home country was even a rumour at the time. Now turning into an important man for the team this season, the Seagulls are already protecting themselves from losing him in the coming years.
