FC Twente star Sam Steijn has been urged to remain patient, reject Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer and wait for bigger clubs to come calling for him.
FC Twente Insite cover the striker today and comments from Glenn Helder, who believes the 23-year-old should wait before moving in the summer transfer window.
Steijn has been shining in the Netherlands this season, with 19 goals and four assists in 23 games in the Eredivisie so far and 23 goals and five assists in 36 games in all competitions.
It’s expected to be a busy summer for him, with several Premier League clubs already credited with an interest and reportedly keeping an eye on him. Brighton are one of them and have been continually named as being interested.
FC Twente Insite repeat that today, saying that Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Brighton all have the player in their sights, but it is the Seagulls who are said to be the ‘most concrete’ of these four clubs.
That’s led to questions about whether they’d be the right fit and Helder believes not, feeling that patience could be to Steijn’s advantage.
“If you go for the money, it is possible at all clubs in England,” he said.
“If he continues this way, he will soon have even more attractive clubs to choose from.”
