Tracked by a handful of Premier League clubs, including Brighton, who saw a bid rejected by Gent recently, Moses Simon is a wanted man.

The Seagulls target is also said to be of interest to Tottenham, Liverpool and West Brom, but the Belgian side who currently own him are said to want at least £13m for their star forward.

Scoring five goals and picking up seven assists in 42 appearances last year, the 22-year-old is, despite all the rumours about him in the press, full focused on helping Gent next season.

Speaking to OwnGoalNigeria, he said: “I’m still at Gent but for how long? I honestly don’t know. I will not be disappointed if I remain here because I am well loved and respected by the coaches and club fans”

“I’m 100% focused on helping Gent do well next season, hence my dedication to training is still the same like the first day I came here. We have a big season ahead but we have the squad to cope”.

The fact the player doesn’t know how long he’ll be a Gent player for says a lot about his current situation, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Chris Hughton were to come back with an improved offer in the near future.

A move to the likes of Brighton or West Brom makes more sense for a player of his calibre at this stage of his career, as guaranteed game time will be high on his list of priorities.

Will he get that at Liverpool or Tottenham with the players already present in their respective squads? We doubt it.
