On Wednesday, Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi confirmed an injury will force Ansu Fati to spend a “long time” away from the pitch.

The winger has been on loan at Brighton from Barcelona since the last window. He picked up an injury in the Seagulls’ league win over Nottingham Forest last weekend and this has left the La Liga side concerned.

According to ABC, the initial scans have shown the 21-year-old could be out of action for three months.

Jijantes FC, through X, formerly known as Twitter, now provide the latest on the Brighton star’s situation. The information is provided by journalist Carlos Monfort, who explains that the Spain international was spotted at the Catalan club’s facilities ‘this morning’.

The player was accompanied by his brother, and he will start part of the recovery process at his parent club.

Fati has struggled with multiple injuries at Barca and concerns over fitness saw his game being restricted. This convinced him to join Brighton on loan, where he scored four goals and registered one assist from 14 games this season.
