According to a prominent Turkish journalist, Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The Turkish international signed for the Premier League side in the summer from Fenerbahce, but his time in England has been blighted by injury.
Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reports on social media that due to his continuing problems with a toe injury the Brighton player will be ruled out for three months.
In recent days there have been reports Kadıoğlu has undergone surgery, which was confirmed by the player himself, on the big toe which has been giving him problems. It was initially hoped that the left back could avoid that operation via rest and treatment.
Kadıoğlu signed for Brighton after impressing for his country during last summer’s Euros, but after a decent start he hasn’t played for the Seagulls since the beginning of November.
He’s started just five games in the league since his arrival at the Amex, scoring on his final game against Liverpool. His injury also ruled him out of Turkey’s last two UEFA Nations League games.
