Brighton and Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard has insisted it is ‘pointless’ to link him with a move to join Graham Potter at Chelsea.
Potter left Brighton to join the Blues earlier this month following Thomas Tuchel’s surprise sacking after the loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
With the transfer window well closed, he will be working with the squad he has inherited for the time being, but it is believed he has been offered backing by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly when the window opens.
He’s quickly been linked with a move for several of his Brighton stars, with several reports putting Trossard at the top of his wish list.
Whether that is the case remains to be seen, although Chelsea’s forward line is likely to be an area he wants to focus on moving forwards.
It seems Trossard is uninterested in any speculation in the meantime, though, with the Brighton man clear about the subject when asked by Het Niuewsblad.
“I feel very good. We had a super good start with Brighton,” he told the newspaper.
“I have evolved tremendously. I now know how Premier League works. I’ve grown tremendously in that. Confidence, mentally, physically, … I have become better.
“I have mastered the tricks now. Our coach did leave for Chelsea now but speculations about me following him make no sense.
“If the opportunity arises, I want to go. But I want to play and not sit on the bench.”
