It appears that Brighton & Hove Albion are scouring the French leagues to try and get ahead of the game when it comes to signing young talent.

We say this because it was announced over the past few days, not by the Premier League club itself but the player’s agent, that Samy Chouchane had signed a three year deal with the Seagulls.

There’s little chance you know who the defensive midfielder is (we certainly didn’t), but Brian Cruman announced on his Instagram that his client would be moving to the Amex Stadium in the near future.

We had a look around, and Les Talents Tunisiens have a profile on the 16-year-old, who was born on September 5, 2003.

They explain he is a defensive midfielder, currently playing for AC Boulogne-Billancourt’s U17s (the same team that helped develop Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri), but who has also made one appearance for the senior team despite his young age.

His main attributes are his ‘short and long accurate passes’ as well as his strength in challenges.

The belief is that Chouchane will integrate Brighton’s U18 team going forward.
