Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield Wednesday were two of the English clubs who scouted the match between Benfica and Marítimo on Saturday.

Newspaper A Bola is the one reporting their visit to Estádio da Luz, although there’s no information on potential targets for both clubs.

Benfica had no problems thrashing Marítimo 4-0, with a goal scored by Pizzi and a hat-trick by Brazilian striker Carlos Vinícius.

Other Eagles players such as Adel Taarabt and Chiquinho also had a great match, and may have caught an eye from some of the scouts.

Now what do Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday have in common? They have both been watching a few Benfica games since the start of the season, although neither has been heavily linked to Eagles’ players lately.

Brighton were even said to be interested in Haris Seferovic, but he had been ruled out from this game due to a calf injury.

So it seems these two clubs may be continuing to keep an eye on the Eagles to see if something interesting pops up.
