Brighton and Hove Albion have ‘set out to conquer’ the signing to youngster Ibrahim Dembele, who currently plays for RFAF Senou in the D2 League championship in France.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who report the 19-year-old striker’s performances have ‘attracted the attention’ of Brighton.
They report that Brighton have extended an invitation to the player’s representative about a potential move in the near future.
Brighton are not the only side in Europe keeping an eye on the youngster, with clubs in Portugal, France, Belgium and Spain all interested. The names of the interested clubs have not yet been disclosed, however.
Dembele has eight goals and five assists in 14 games in Ligue 2 this season, as well as being crowned the top scorer in the Colonel Assimi Goita Cup this year with five goals and three assists to his name.
Brighton’s management are in talks with the player’s representatives, with discussions focussed on the possibility of a trial in the near future.
Africa Foot say Dembele is an attacker with great speed and incisiveness, who stands out for his ‘impactful dribbling’ and his ability to past a man on the wing. He ‘excels in delivering precise crosses’ and is know for having excellent technique.
He’s about to sign his first professional contract and it seems Brighton are keen to at least put their foot in the door and perhaps get a closer look at him in future.
