The first fixtures of the Portuguese League were played at the weekend, and Premier League clubs are already setting their sights on local matches.

It wasn’t Benfica, Porto or Sporting who got attention from Brighton & Hove Albion this time. It was the game between Braga and Moreirense, as reported by O Jogo.

Braga managed to win the game 3-1, proving they should fight for the top spots in the league again this season. Their goals were scored by Fransérgio, Hassan and Wilson Eduardo.

Since the Premier League transfer window has just closed and this is the first league fixture of the season, it’s obviously impossible to guess who the Seagulls were watching. Especially because we haven’t covered stories about Brighton scouting Braga or Moreirense.

This is certainly part of their plans for the upcoming transfer windows, so perhaps we can expect more targets from the Portuguese league in January or next summer.
