Earlier today, the Dutch media revealed that Brighton & Hove Albion and Feyenoord were in advanced talks for the transfer of Mats Wieffer.

It was claimed the player was given permission to talk to the Seagulls, and the clubs should soon conclude the deal.

Now as outlet 1908 shares an update on the situation, it’s stated there’s a ‘formal agreement’ between Feyenoord and Brighton for the transfer.

Following a verbal deal, the clubs are now officially shaking hands with a €30m move on the way.

The report claims that amount may even go up depending on the add-ons, and the Dutch side should be excited about such a big sale.

It’s added that Wieffer himself has already found a personal agreement with Brighton, and will fly to England this week to complete the transfer.

It was the midfielder’s great season for Fyenoord that brought his market value on Transfermarkt to €30m. Even though he had some appearances for the Netherlands, he ended up out of the Euros squad due to an injury.
