It doesn’t really feel like a transfer window unless Inter Milan are trying to find a new home for Joao Mario.
The 26 year old joined the Italian club from Sporting in 2016 and things didn’t go quite as well as planned. In the January 2018 transfer window he moved on loan to West Ham for the rest of the season, and there was an option to make it permanent.
Whilst the Hammers didn’t completely rule out a longer stay, they weren’t interested at the terms previously agreed so Joao Mario returned to his parent club.
Now Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly trying to sign him. Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla published an exclusive on Saturday afternoon, claiming Brighton are pressuring the player to sign for them.
They’re ready to meet Inter Milan’s demands, according to the claims, but those demands aren’t shared and it’s not clear whether Brighton want the player on a loan or permanent deal.
As it stands he’s not too convinced but hasn’t ruled it out and is considering the option.
