Brighton & Hove Albion have set their sights on Paris Saint-Germain youngster Romaric Yapi.

RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi claims the Seagulls have positioned themselves to sign the 19-year-old.

He explains Graham Potter’s side are at the first stage of discussions, but doesn’t specify if it’s between the two clubs or between Brighton and the right-back’s representative.

While explaining PSG could lose more youngsters from their academy, RMC Sport’s transfer live blog states the Premier League side have started discussions with the defender’s entourage.

The claims from Tanzi and RMC suggest Brighton’s efforts to sign the fullback are still in the initial stages.

If Brighton’s interest in signing Yapi is concrete, one could expect more developments before the window closes on August 8th.

Two days ago, L’Equipe reported Brighton are one of the Premier League clubs interested in Montpellier’s Ruben Aguilar, who is also a right-back.
