On Thursday, we covered multiple claims from Spain which stated Real Sociedad have Brighton & Hove Albion’s Igor Julio on their agenda for this summer.

Later that day, AS reported other clubs are showing interest in the defender but La Real are ahead. They also stated he’s seduced by the idea of joining the La Liga side.

A fresh report from AS covers the latest and their title says: ‘Talks with Brighton for Igor Julio are moving forward’

The Spanish club had West Ham United’s Nayef Aguerd on loan this season and weren’t able to extend his stay. This convinced them to look for another centre-back and the focus is currently on Igor Julio.

According to AS, Real Sociedad and the 27-year-old have ‘reached an understanding’ and ‘almost everything has been agreed’, with a few details left to sort out. This is expected to happen because the defender has given his approval to joining La Real.

The Brazilian’s minutes under Fabian Hürzeler were restricted, partly because of an injury. He believes his situation can improve by joining a ‘competitive’ club like Real Sociedad.

It’s now down to the two clubs to find an agreement and the newspaper states ‘talks are underway’ between Real Sociedad and Brighton.

In this way, La Real are making advances to find an agreement with the Seagulls.
