Brighton signed three players in the January during a busy window for the Premier League side.

Stefanos Tzimas was loaned back to Nuremberg and it remains to be seen if Diego Gomez or Eiran Cashin will add instant quality to Fabian Hurzeler’s side.

It now seems Brighton tried to sign another player who could have indeed added quality and versatility to the team.

Corriere dello Sport  today report the Seagulls also came forward for Lazio star Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

The report states Brighton remembered the midfielder from his time at Manchester City and that the Nigerian also helped Sheffield Wednesday to get promotion to the Championship during the 2022/23 season.

Brighton’s approach was rejected but there is now interest from Arsenal. In general, Premier League clubs are starting to take notice of the 24-year-old again.

As of now, Lazio want to keep him in Rome. They had signed the midfielder in the summer of 2024 on an initial loan deal with the obligation to buy for €4m. The Italian side believe that his value will rise in the future.

There is belief depending on whether Lazio qualify for the Champions League or not, a decision will be made about Dele-Bashiru’s future.
