A Brighton and Hove Albion offer for Club Brugge defender Joel Ordoñez ‘does not seem inconceivable’ this summer.
That’s according to Voetbal Nieuws, who can easily see the Seagulls making their move for the 20-year-old in the coming months.
A report this week stated that Brighton had been busy scouting Ordoñez this week, watching him in Brugge’s impressive win over Atalanta in the Europa League.
They are one of several Premier League teams reportedly interested but appear to be edging to the front of the queue for the defender.
He’s expected to move on in the coming months, with Voetbal Nieuws reporting that the cash register could be ringing for Brugge in the summer given the performances of their players on Europe’s biggest stage this season.
Ordoñez is one of those in the spotlight and it ‘does not seem inconceivable’ that Brighton will make a bid at some point.
They have a ‘good argument’ convince him to as they can point to the fact that fellow Ecuadorian Moises Caicedo enjoyed his big breakthrough with the Seagulls before moving to Chelsea.
Ordoñez is likely to cost considerably move than he did but the prospect of the Seagulls making a bid is becoming increasingly likely.
