Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United are both interested in Espanyol left-back Adria Pedrosa, according to reports from Spain.

Mundo Deportivo writes that the 24-year-old, whose contract with the La Liga side expires next summer, has been drawing attention from English sides.

The outlet points out that Brighton, who are expected to sell Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, could get Pedrosa to replace him in that position. Meanwhile, Newcastle are mentioned as a club who have ‘a known economic muscle’ to go for their targets.

Espanyol, however, are still hopeful they can keep the player. So they’re expected to spend the next few months trying to convince him to sign a new contract, as despite a tense relationship in the past, things seem to be just fine with his agents lately. They believe he’s well settled at the club and could continue with them.

Now in case Brighton or Newcastle choose to move for him in the current transfer window, as this scenario is claimed to be possible, then it’s said the price for his transfer should be around €8m.
