Brighton and Hove Albion defender Leo Ostigard is likely to join Napoli this summer, with the two sides continuing negotiations over the fee.
That’s according to journalist Paolo Bargiggia, who believes the Italian side will convince the Seagulls to lower their demands.
Ostigard has been named as a target for Napoli for several weeks, with them reportedly keen, following his performances on loan at Genoa in the second half of last season.
They’re pushing to get a deal over the line but with Ostigard’s contract at Brighton expiring next summer, refusing to pay over the odds.
A recent report indicated there was a €1m difference in valuation between the two sides at present, with Brighton wanting €6m and Napoli refusing to go higher than an overall package worth €5m.
It means there is some work to be done to bring them closer together, but Bargiggia is confident that will happen.
“The deal is in an advanced state,” Mondo Napoli report him saying.
“In the end, Napoli will manage to convince Brighton on their terms. At the moment, they are trying to find an agreement, with the English asking for €6m.
“Ostigard will most likely become the fourth defender in the squad.”
