With just three appearances to his name in the Premier League this season, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Bernardo needed some game time elsewhere.

The 25-year-old, who was bought from RB Leipzig for £9m back in 2018, has seen his game time dwindle over the past year and a half, with Graham Potter preferring Solly March down the left of his three at the back formation.

This clearly led to frustration on the Brazilian’s part, who is on the verge of going out on loan to RB Salzburg.

That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who took to his website to reveal the news, reminding his readers that Bernardo won’t be homesick at his new club.

He already knows the Austrian side from spending six months there in 2016 before being moved to Leipzig the following summer.

The Brighton man will now be looking to recapture his previous form in a league he knows, but with no further details regarding the temporary deal, it could be he returns to Amex in the not so distant future, perhaps with a view to sell him in the summer as his contract expires in June 2022.
