Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Julio Enciso is set for a two-to-three-month period on the sidelines after undergoing an operation on his left knee.

That’s according to Versus, who report that the Brighton man is set to undergo surgery once again and is hoping to be fit by the end of the year.

They explain that Enciso will have further surgery on his left knee which will remove the torn part of his meniscus removed. His goal is to be 100% fit by the end of the year.

This latest absence will be a major blow for the Brighton man, who had been looking to secure a transfer this summer after returning form a loan spell at Ipswich Town in the second half of last season.

A report at the weekend stated that he was visiting a doctor to undergo a medical consultation on his knee before reporting for pre-season with the Seagulls. That clearly led to a problem being diagnosed and now he appears set for another spell on the sidelines.

The issue with his left knee is a longstanding one after he suffered a meniscus tear in August 2023, which saw him spend 184 days out of action and miss 38 games for Brighton and Paraguay until his return in February last year.
